Coffee & Tea
Coffee generally needs highly permeable soils that are well-drained and aerated. It is usually cultivated in deep, well-drained loamy soils that are slightly acidic and rich in organic matter.
Nitrogen and potassium are the most important nutrients for the crop, which requires an NPK balance of 1-0.2-1.
After water, tea is the most widely consumed drink in the world. Tea bushes are evergreen plants that are predominantly cultivated in subtropical and tropical climates. It takes three years before a new plant is ready to be harvested and tea is usually categorized by the processing method used.
The production of tea requires an NPK ratio range of 1-0.4-0.5 (e.g. green tea from China) or 1-0.6 -1. (e.g. black tea from India).
