Tessenderlo Kerley International to build second Thio-Sul® plant in Europe
Tessenderlo Kerley International, a business unit of Tessenderlo Group, will build a new liquid fertilizer plant in Western Europe.
Upon receiving the necessary permits and approvals, it will begin the construction of a Thio-Sul® (ammonium thiosulfate) manufacturing plant at the Chemelot site in Geleen (the Netherlands). The plant is currently scheduled to start production in Q2 2023.
The Geleen plant will be TKInt’s second Thio-Sul® plant in Europe. In September 2017, TKInt already successfully started the production of Thio-Sul® at its liquid fertilizer plant in Rouen, France. This marked a new milestone in the history of Tessenderlo Group as it was the group’s first Thio-Sul® plant located outside the United States. The liquid fertilizer Thio-Sul® (ammonium thiosulfate) is used for broad-acre crops as well as arboricultural and vegetable crop cultivation.
